Monmouth County Court Information

All Indictable Criminal Court matters are held in the Monmouth County Courthouse. The address is 71 Monument Park, Freehold.  

Indictable crimes include Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Burglary, Sexual Assault, Fraud, Forgery, Firearms charges, as well as most Drug/CDS charges. Minor charges such as Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Simple Assault, Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction are handled in Municipal Court. Monmouth County Crime Statistics

The most recent crime statistics are for 2006. Thus, all statistics are from the 2006 Uniform Crime Reports.

• During 2006, there were 13,993 Index crimes reported, representing a 1 percent increase compared to 2005.
• Violent crime increased 15 percent and the nonviolent crime decreased less than one-half of one percent compared to the previous year.
• A victimization rate of 22.0 persons per 1,000 inhabitants reflected a 1 percent increase compared to 2005.
• Motor Vehicle Theft decreased 9 percent and Rape decreased 7 percent.
• Total stolen property values amounted to $19.9 million during the year; of this total, 25 percent was recovered.

• Total arrests for 2006 were 32,365 persons, an increase of 3 percent compared to 2005.
• Adult arrests increased 2 percent and juvenile arrests increased 12 percent.
• The total clearance rate for Index offenses was 22.9 percent; juveniles were responsible for 22 percent of those cases cleared.
