Mount Holly Criminal Defense Attorneys
When the population and the rural character of much of the county is considered, Burlington County sees a large amount of arrests when compared with other counties. For example, Burlington County had an estimated population of 424,000 in 2006 while Bergen County had an estimated population of about 850,000 or double the population of Burlington County. For the same time period, Bergen County had 23,938 arrests in 2006 while Burlington County had 23,115. However, the number of index offenses committed and number of new criminal cases opened in Superior Court for each county show that Bergen County sees a larger number of serious offenses. This means that Burlington County has more arrests for less serious matters.
