Camden County has a reputation for having a high amount of crime. However, the arrests are not as high as one might think. While Camden County had the second highest number of arrests for index crimes (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft and motor vehicle theft) at 3,396 in 2006, the total number of arrests for all crimes was only 24,164 which is still a large number for counties in New Jersey. However, it fell behind Monmouth County which came in at 27,327 arrests in 2006. In addition, Essex County had over 1000 more arrests for index crimes for the same period and about double the amount of overall arrests. Thus, while crime remains a serious concern, it does not even come close to level of Essex County.
Unlike some of the more affluent northern counties in New Jersey, the vast majority of crime in Camden County is street crime. At Jack Ventri & Associates, our team of tough, smart attorneys are able to defend you against both white-collar crimes and street crimes in Cherry Hill or any court in Camden County or elsewhere New Jersey. Call us today to discuss your Camden County criminal court matter with one of our attorneys.
